Alfie Hicks Raises over $3,500 for camper scholarships!
In April, past staff member Alfie Hicks ran the London Marathon to support Camp Herrlich! To Alfie, “Camp Herrlich is a place that means more to me than I can put into words. I’ve been lucky enough to experience the magic of camp, it has given me unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and lessons that shaped who I am today.”
Alfie says that running the marathon was one of the most challenging and rewarding things he has ever done. Crossing the finish line felt incredibly emotional, especially knowing how many people had supported him along the way.
To raise funds, Alfie organised an event with some of his friends who run an events company. This brought friends and family together, created a really great crowd and a fun atmosphere. Alongside the event, Alfie also received many generous donations from friends, family, and supporters who were kind enough to contribute.
“Camp continues to impact my life in such a positive way, with the relationships and skills I learnt being irreplaceable. It’s a place that has shaped so many positive memories for me, which is why supporting it through the marathon felt so important and personal.”
We are so grateful to Alfie for his fundraising efforts. He raised over $3,500!
